A Boujee Wedding on a Budget

Would you like a bougie wedding on a budget? Well look no further! Here are my top tips on how to create amazing impact without breaking the bank.

Repurposing florals.

Firstly think about everything that you can repurpose on the day from your ceremony to your venue. What decor are you having running up the aisle? If it's floral pew ends, they could then be tied into the hotel centerpieces, similarly, from candle light to cherry blossom trees everything can be repurposed as centerpieces after the ceremony so that you are getting double use out of the florals.

I love to see the re-purposing of a beautiful floral arch from the doors of your church to the cutting of the cake especially if you have used your color scheme throughout, it will tie everything together and your theme & colour scheme will run perfectly throughout the day.

Above, you will see pew ends tied to the top table chairs at the beautiful Ballymascanlon Hotel.

Little touches.

For me it's a little touches that make the biggest impact. Let your style tell the story on this momentous day of your lives by incorporating little elements that reflect who you are as a couple. These can be brought into your day through favors, table plan and signage. A lot of these elements can be created by yourselves without spending a fortune yet the impact that they will have will be worth every penny.

Invest in focal points.

Where will your guests be on the day? At what point will they have time to look around and really take in what they see?

I really believe that the time between arriving at the venue and being called for dinner is a time when guests have two to three hours of mingling and spectating. This is the perfect time to have those elements that create impact. This is where I would invest in either music, dancing or some form of entertainment that won't be easily forgotten.

This is also a great time to have your guest book or your audio guest book available as your guests have plenty of time to avail of them. Dressing these areas up with lots of candle light and possibly some flowers that tie in with your color scheme will bring the whole look together without costing the earth.

Table plan.

One element of your wedding day that your guests cannot miss is your table plan. Every single person that is being called for dinner will have to look at your table plan to find their seat so this is the perfect place to invest a little so that it really reflects your style and your interests.

Spending wisely.

When investing in fairy lights for your wedding venue, you can go as little as a fairy light entrance drape to a full room drape but generally speaking couples go somewhere in the middle. If you are on a budget I would recommend having a fairy light backdrop behind your top table. This is the main focal point of the day were all eyes are on you. It it creates fabulous visual impact especially for photos and for videos of the speeches. Also in some venues the top table is the same area where your band will play so your backdrop will double up as a beautiful setting for your first dance.

Win win situation!
